Gumz Farms is looking for a 1st shift Machine Operator in our Production Department. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machinery in a manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. The Machine Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring production goals are met while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor machinery to ensure optimal performance and quality output. 

Manage product changeovers for efficiencies

Check bag weights

Keep working area clean

Routine maintenance of packing equipment

Check quality of product 

Keep datecode up to date

Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules while maintaining high-quality standards

Notify needed repairs to maintenance

Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting as necessary

Maintain high quality food safety

Ability to understand customer orders

Ensure all packaging information is correct

Work productively as a team member by showing a willingness to take on other tasks when not working as a machine operator.

Job Requirements:

Gumz Farms is looking for a Stacker. Stackers are responsible for all loading and unloading outbound product as directed. The Stacker will be required to achieve company standards for safety, quality and productivity.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Adhere to all food safety and GMP policies

Ability to locate and understand customer repackage requests.

Ability to identify correct package sizes for customer orders.

Ensure all package information is correct as it moves down the conveyor belt.

Make sure all packages are sufficiently sealed.

Following safety regulations, stack finished product packages on correct pallets.

Ensure the correct formation is used during palletizing.

Maintain a clean work area and assist with cleaning other areas as assigned by the supervisor.

Communicate with potential customers, supervisors, managers, quality control personnel, etc. as needed.

Our ideal candidate will have great attention to detail, the ability to work well with other and the ability to troubleshoot and order parts.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Ultimately responsible for maximizing production time.

Operate machines when necessary.

Work with machine operators to manage product changes to achieve efficiencies.

Regularly check the weight of the bags to ensure the machines pack at the optimal level.

Make recommendations for the purchase of packaging material.

Verify product quality and communicate with operations.

Keep the date code up to date.

Maintain parts inventory for all machines to reduce downtime.

Identify problems with machines to determine if the problem is the packaging material or the machine.

Maintain the quality of the production process by leading routine maintenance to reduce product damage and waste.

Train and continue training all machine operators.

Maintain high quality food safety.

Make sure all packaging information is correct

Responsible for setting up product handling for the least amount of damage and reducing product on the floor.
