In 1948, Richard H. Gumz expanded his farming operations from Indiana to the rich “Muck Soils” of South Central Wisconsin. It was during those years Richard H. Gumz with an entrepreneurial mindset had purchased other satellite farm locations that involved his family members. As each farming location continued to evolve over the years, the main farm in Indiana eventually was transitioned down to Jerome “Jerry” Gumz, his son in 1994 and at the same time  the farm here in the Endeavor, Wisconsin was transitioned to Jerome’s sons Richard A. and Roderick Gumz.

In 1998 brothers Richard A. and Roderick Gumz began packing and selling their produce into the wholesale and retail markets. Gumz Farms has grown into one of the top Potato & Onion produce facilities in the Midwest with some state of the art equipment to maximize the efficiency. Today, the Endeavor farm along with “Key” personnel has grown to over several thousand acres consisting of Onions, Red & Yellow Potatoes, Carrots and Mint by fostering proactive measures of “Quality, Consistency, and Sustainability.”

The two brothers now look to continue this tradition of generational farming by integrating their children into the operation along with innovative ideas and openness to future farming to maintain the legacy that has been passed down from their grandfather and father.
